DISCUSSION ITEMS

  1. PUBLIC FORUM

    Walt Mansell indicated that a lead alternative ammunition trial held last week by the Monterey Rifle Club was very successful. He reported that all members were impressed by the performance of the alternate ammunition, and that many indicated they would begin using it this season.

    Tom Raftican discussed the lack of data to support the proposed white sturgeon regulations.

    Brian Stewart discussed the draft EIR for the proposed water bottling plant in SiskiyouCounty.

    Patricia Cantrall discussed the possibility of private land owners utilizing aerial take of coyotes authorized by private depredation permits.

    Paul Weakland requested that withering syndrome be added to the Commission’s agenda.

  2. PRESENTATION OF A DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND GAME DIRECTOR’S AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN ANADROMOUS FISH CONSERVATION AND RESTORATION.

    Mr. Gary Black was presented with the Director’s Award for Outstanding Achievement.

  3. CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ADOPTION OF AMENDMENTS TO THE RECREATIONAL GROUNDFISH REGULATIONS FOR 2007-2008.

    Received proposed amendments; received public testimony. Commission unanimously adopted the proposed amendments, including continuing the exception for shore anglers and spear fishers to take federal groundfish during closed seasons, by a roll call vote.

  4. CONFIRMATION OF COMMISSION’S OCTOBER 6, 2006 ACTION TO AMEND SECTION 149.1, TITLE 14, CCR, RE: ADMINISTRATIVE FEE FOR NON-TRANSFERABLE MARKET SQUID LIGHT BOAT PERMITS.
